The platform is very stable, well-designed, and user-friendly to navigate.Īn awesome feature of Logitech Gaming Software is its ability to automatically detect what games you have installed. It is lightweight and doesn’t take up too much processing power. It is the same software used for many other Logitech keyboards and mice.įortunately, the software is one of the better packages available on the market. SoftwareĬustomizing and personalizing your G710+ is all done using the Logitech Gaming Software, which can be downloaded from Logitech’s website.

Five different levels are available from full brightness to completely off. The first zone is the silver keys, and the second zone is the rest of the keyboard. There are two zones where the LED brightness can be adjusted independently. The legend is large and easily read on each keycap. Bright white LEDs are used to provide illumination, and each key is easily detectable in low light situations. There is no RGB or special effects here, but the backlighting is still very good. It is very difficult to bend, which could provide some difficulties with your cable management, especially for those short on desk space. Perhaps a little too strong, particularly around the rubber collar. The cord is of high quality and feels very strong. And the other for power, so you still essentially lose a USB port. Thankfully this feature is present, as the keyboard requires two USB ports on your PC. There is a USB 2.0 port available right next to where the cord exits the keyboard. As a result, this is one of the best macros keyboards you can buy. Adding macros as you go feels more natural and fluid. Especially when adding multiple functions, there is a lot of planning required.

This is extremely useful during gameplay, as you can record and plan your macros on the fly. Hit the macro record button, followed by your choice of macro shortcut button, enter your sequence, then hit the macro record button again. You will be pleased to know that recording macros is a straightforward, simple process.

It deactivates the Windows key, so you don’t accidentally end up on the desktop. Next to that is one other gaming shortcut key that activates gaming mode. There is a shortcut key just to the left of the media controls. However, switching between each profile is very easy. Unfortunately, you can’t link the profiles to games like what is possible with some of Logitech’s other gaming accessories. Users can save up to three different profiles, each with different button configurations and macros. For those looking for the best Cherry MX keyboards, this is a nice option. The Cherry switches are very responsive, and their operation is almost silent. Not that that’s a bad thing, they’re fantastic, but if you prefer something clicky, you’re out of luck. There is no choice in switches, so Cherry MX Brown it is. Upon placing your fingers on each key, you’ll find they have a slight indentation allowing them to easily find their place. The keys on the G710+ are finished in a matte black color, apart from the WSAD and Arrow keys, which have a silver finish. Above the numeric pad, you’ll also find a roller for quickly adjusting the volume on the fly. Horizontally along the top right are play, stop, and skip buttons. In addition to the macro keys running around the left extremities, there are some media controls added too. Finally, we may have discovered a chink in Logitech’s armor. It does provide some additional comfort but is a little soft and squishy, offering only limited support. Construction is solid and sturdy, as you would expect when using high-quality ABS plastic to place your switches and keys within.Īt the very bottom of the keyboard is a magnetic detachable wrist rest. This is when you begin to realize what a great job Logitech has done with the use of space on this keyboard. It measures 20 x 8.7 inches (51 x 22 centimeters) while not tiny, it is probably smaller than you expected. As it turns out, it measures just under average for a keyboard in this class. Logitech has done a good job of keeping this keyboard understated, yet still with a few touches of flare.įirst impressions are that this is a large keyboard with so many features crammed into it. You’ll notice three smaller orange and a red button horizontally laid out in the top row.

A mixture of mostly black and a few silver keys are combined with an orange border around the single vertical row of macro keys running up the left side. When taking your new keyboard from its packaging, you are met with a largish, ready-for-battle keyboard.
